Although I haven’t heard how court went this morning for my colleague, she did return at 12 noon, in time for us to speak with Review of the PC(USA) as a Whole committee between 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. (which went OK – my colleague (who did a good job) and I still working out the division of labor.) We made it out of there in time for the birthday party for colleague Ida and welcome back to Becki. My Mother heard some good news: what on her liver that her doctors wanted to check for – and apparently confirmed this morning – was a hemanginoma (also called a vascular birthmark). She already has a bunch of these. Collectively, however, if she ever needs to go on blood thinner these could make it tough since they could bleed easily. We got another call from Stephanie’s father who is trying to involve us a little in the research for his legal case. And – for the second time in a month- we went back to see Vincent’s counselor. Stephanie’s threat to kick Vincent out of the house if he went off with his father without getting more school work done or some money earned helped trigger the session. Although he’s threatening to stay home in the morning – too much popcorn during “The Taking of Pelham 123” – Vincent started out today helping Stephanie on the first day of summer school. Vincent’s counselor was still pretty enthusiastic about him, although hinted – just having gotten him to sign a release to give us information – that there were some “bad decisions” he had made earlier that we didn’t know about. Vincent has claimed to her that he’s working hard on school (and she said in the past he’d never claimed this) and has been enthusiastic about earning $10 a day working with his mother.
